When choosing a DE or WM it states "Don't worry you can install more later" but there is no later, would be a nice idea to have checkboxes instead so you can install multiple options e.g a DE and WM at the same time or atleast have a small tool installed as default to install other DE/WM's later as stated.
Currently, this is intended as having multiple large DEs installed can lead to potentially unfixable clutter, the user is always free to install them manually, however it is not exactly recommended.
search box for the keyboard selection, but already seen this is being fixed
Yep, this is being worked on!
When installing a few packages from the AUR using ame I noticed some basic linux-devel packages are missing, maybe the linux-devel package should be installed as part of the base
We plan on shipping the base-devel
package by default going forward.
Steam is just one of those packages most people will install, so why not enable multilib in pacman.conf as default?
This is on purpose, in instances like these where a Flatpak app is available, it's much easier and safer to install the Flatpak rather than enabling multilib.
Multilib is generally considered less secure as 32-bit applications can't always benefit from x86_64 security features, and as such should only be enabled if strictly needed.
If you'd like Steam and Wine, we'd recommend the Steam Flatpak and Bottles
Having installed "Onyx" as the option in the jade installer, had me wondering why so many built-in gnome extensions but most of them not activated.
This is actually an issue with how we've packaged Onyx thus far, you can actually boot into Onyx by selecting it in GDM (Through the cog in the bottom right corner of the screen.)
Hope that cleared some stuff up!
