This has been my favorite distro in a long time. The team is doing an amazing job, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I originally installed Crystal because my flash drive wouldn't install vanilla Arch properly. (weird usb errors flooding the terminal and such, no clue why.) I'm absolutely thrilled at how easy it all is, and it doesn't try to shove half-baked GUI's in your face the whole time. Onyx on the live session is absolutely beautiful, although I personally prefer Plasma.
Amethyst is amazing. I mean, y'all said it was great, but it's really freaking great. It just... works. And then on top of it is a beautiful AUR helper that actually lets you audit the PKGBUILDS right there. I think I might set up aliases so that the old pacman and yay commands I'm used to redirect themselves to Amethyst.
I'm also a fan of how lightweight it is compared to other Arch distros like Manjaro (gross) and Endeavour. I'm not usually a big fan of distros "theming" the desktop to match their "brand" or whatever (with the minor exception of Fedora, because they're nice about it). Well, since Crystal installs everything related to the desktop from upstream at Arch, I actually had to add theming. (The Crystal Linux logo is a beautiful icon for Kickoff, by the way.) That's a victory.
With distro-specific things like that in mind, the purple aesthetic you guys are using is awesome too. I know it probably just sounds like I'm trying to troll or find things to like at this point, but literally the first thing I noticed when I went to the Crystal landing page was "wow, I like that purple."
TL;DR: Crystal is my new favorite distro, period. The devs are doing an amazing job. Amethyst is awesome-- and I like purple.
